Physicians as Independent Contractors

The following hospital-based physician specialties render services at Shore Memorial. They are not employees of the hospital, but serve as independent contractors to the hospital for essential services.

• Anesthesiologists
• Emergency Medicine Physicians
• Hospitalists
• Neonatologists
• Pathologists
• Radiologists

You may also be referred to a specialist who may not be an employee of the hospital. You are encouraged to ask your healthcare providers (physicians and other personnel) to identify themselves and explain their affiliation with the hospital.
