Nursing Scholarships and Fellowships

“I went through nursing school on the hospital’s fellowship program. I first started here fifteen years ago as an orderly and the hospital was very accommodating when I was going to school. It’s a great place to work and, thanks to Shore Memorial, I have a career I love.”

Steve Fuchs, RN

The following financial assistance is available to nursing students:

The Shore Memorial Academic Nursing Fellowship:
Provides assistance to students enrolled in any accredited Registered Nursing program. Qualified candidates can receive a total of $7,000 per year in exchange for a commitment to work 2,080 hours for each year sponsored at Shore Memorial after graduation.

Outstanding employees beginning or furthering their nursing education can receive $2,000 per year through the Sambrook Fellowship endowed by a generous former patient.

Tuition Reimbursement Program:
Full-time employees are eligible for $3,000 tuition reimbursement per year; part-time employees can receive $1,800 per year. Students using this strategy often take longer to graduate because they typically take a class or two at a time while working regular hours at Shore.

In addition, on-site academic education is available through the University of Delaware Focus Program and the Richard Stockton College Life Corp. Learning Program.
