Program Mission

The mission of the School of Radiologic Technology is to provide a comprehensive and quality education in radiologic technology and to provide the community with competent and compassionate technologists.

The goals of the School of Radiologic Technology are to:

• Provide the healthcare community with competent certified entry-level radiologic technologists.
• Provide the healthcare community with graduates who demonstrate the skills and knowledge to produce optimal radiographic images.
• Provide the healthcare community with graduates who have the ability to communicate effectively and provide high quality patient care in the healthcare environment.
• Provide the healthcare community with graduates who exercise radiation protection towards the patient, the healthcare team and the general public.

Program Overview

• The Shore Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is a two-year educational program.
• The program consists of four semesters and begins in July.
• Students are involved in classroom or clinical education activities Monday through Friday 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
• Vacation, semester breaks, and holidays are scheduled in the program's academic calendar. (View sample academic calendar (D3e))
• To successfully complete the goals of the program, students participate in classroom activities, practice the skills learned in the classroom in a laboratory setting, and apply their knowledge in a clinical education setting. (View curriculum and course descriptions (D3f).)
• Students are assigned to clinical education settings to participate in a variety of diagnostic imaging experiences.
