The School of Radiologic Technology

Radiologic technologists use X-rays to create images of the human body. Radiologists, physicians specializing in the uses of ionizing radiation, interpret the images produced by radiologic technologists and diagnose medical injuries and disease processes based on the information from the images. Other titles used for radiologic technologists are X-ray technologist and radiographer.

Shore Memorial Hospital offers a full-time, 24-month hospital sponsored educational program in radiologic technology. Through participation in classroom, laboratory and clinical activities, students are prepared to successfully begin a career as a radiologic technologist.

The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Radiological Health. At the completion of the program, graduates receive a Certificate of Program Completion and are eligible to apply for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Examination and for state licensure.
