Dialysis Units

The Dialysis Units at Shore Memorial Hospital are the largest in the South Jersey area, providing outpatient care to approximately 160 patients. Hemodialysis is provided by specially trained, certified staff in two separate units.

The hospital unit is located on the first floor and has 18 machines for outpatient treatments, the second unit is on Shore Road in Somers Point, in the Carl and Margaret Mitnick Building and houses 13 machines. These state-of-the-art hemodialysis machines provide the best technological features available, allowing the staff to deliver a high quality treatment with enhanced patient comfort. Peritoneal Dialysis, inpatient dialysis and home dialysis are provided as well.

Chronic Kidney Disease Management Program

If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, ask your doctor about your
GFR. The GFR is your Glomerular Filtration Rate, and it tells you and your
doctor how well your kidneys are functioning. If it's below 60, it means
your kidneys aren't working as they should.

But there is help - Shore Memorial's Chronic Kidney Disease Management
program is the only service of its kind in the region. It can help you
control and maintain optimal kidney function.
