An X-ray or radiograph is one of the most commonly used techniques for imaging internal structures of the body. An X-ray requires a small amount of radiation to visualize internal structures and assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring patients' conditions.
Shore Memorial's digital radiography and fluoroscopy system uses today's technology that provides high quality images for a full range of diagnostic exams. Unlike film X-rays, digital images are available almost instantaneously. There's no waiting for film processing.
For most X-rays, minimal preparation required. Special instructions will be given at the time of registration. However, if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be, it is important that you tell your physician and technologist before the test is performed as special precautions may have to be taken.
