Shore Memorial was the first area hospital to introduce the Laminar Ultra Airflow Operating Suite, enabling our orthopedic surgeons to continuously bring cutting-edge technology to patients needing total joint replacement surgery.

Today, the procedures are so advanced, even both knees can be replaced during the same operation. In some cases, our board certified orthopedic surgeons can even postpone or sometimes avoid total knee replacement with a “mini-knee” implant. This remarkable advance removes very little bone, allowing the patient’s own joint to remain intact. Patients begin walking and are discharged home the same day.
