Special Care Nursery

Our Special Care Nursery team uses high-tech monitoring devices for sick or special-care newborns allowing these babies to remain with the family rather than requiring transfer to another hospital.
Supporting the Special Care Nursery is the CHOP Newborn & Pediatric Care Program. Shore Memorial's clinical affiliation with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) enables us to provide around-the-clock Intermediate Neonatal Nursery (Level 2) care. Highly trained CHOP neonatologists and pediatricians along with specialty nurses are on site to care for newborns requiring more specialized care.
If a more intensive level of care (Level 3) is ever needed, our affiliation with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia facilitates timely transport and the benefit of coordinated care between the two hospitals.
