Shore Memorial Hospital's renowned Maternity Care Center provides a next-century level of care for today's expectant mothers.

The entire Maternity Care Center is designed to convey the elegance and inviting charm of a Victorian Bed & Breakfast Inn at the shore...a comforting environment of extraordinary hospitality and personal service. Eleven LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) rooms and 12 postpartum mother/baby rooms enable the new mother to receive all the services she needs in a private, relaxed atmosphere with family around her for support.

When a woman is admitted to the Maternity Care Center she keeps the same room throughout her entire stay. A nurse cares for both mother and baby together. Each private room offers everything needed to keep the whole family comfortable: a rocking chair, sleep chair, TV with VCR and a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Although it looks and feels like a luxurious inn, behind the rich wood cabinet doors are the most advanced equipment and technology available today.

In the event a cesarean delivery is required, our suites for cesarean sections are located within the Maternity Care Center; so family members can stay close by, ready to welcome their newest addition.
