Through our Cancer Registry, we are dedicated to lifetime follow-up of every cancer patient diagnosed or treated at Shore Memorial Hospital.
Established in 1984 as part of the hospital's cancer services, the Cancer Registry is responsible for collecting, reporting, following and maintaining the data of all cancer patients.
The data collected is reported to the New Jersey State Cancer Registry as required by law and to the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) as required for approval by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC). All data is confidential and the registry staff strictly adheres to hospital-wide confidentiality policies.
Physicians and employees at Shore Memorial routinely utilize aggregate data for retrospective quality improvement review and initiatives, as well as outcomes analysis. Additionally, Shore Memorial participates in CoC special studies.
