Detecting cancer early when it is most treatable continues to be among the most powerful weapons in the war against cancer.

Shore Memorial's Cancer Program and the hospital's medical staff provide educational programs that keep you abreast of the current recommended screening guidelines for early detection.

Are you uninsured, underinsured or on a limited income?  

Since 1997, Shore Memorial has been the Atlantic County's lead agency for CEED, the NJ Cancer Education and Early Detection program. Supported by both federal and state grant funds, CEED provides free screenings to Atlantic County residents with income and insurance challenges. CEED covers breast, cervical, prostate and colorectal cancer screenings.

The federal Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment Act of 2000 allows states to expand Medicaid coverage to eligible women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer. On July 1, 2001, New Jersey adopted this coverage when Acting Governor Donald DiFrancesco signed the bill into law during a ceremony held at Shore Memorial.
